Faith-based organizations across the United States have a legal and moral responsibility to protect children from sexual abuse. While state laws vary, many designate clergy members, church staff, and volunteers as mandated reporters, requiring them to report known or suspected abuse. Some states also have specific policies for youth-serving organizations, including background checks, training requirements, and reporting procedures.
The Guarded Wings Promise training helps ministries meet these legal obligations by equipping staff and volunteers to recognize grooming behaviors, identify signs of abuse, and take proactive measures to safeguard children. By fostering a culture of vigilance, safety, and accountability, your ministry not only complies with state laws but also upholds its sacred duty to provide a secure, nurturing environment where children can grow and thrive.
Every child deserves to grow up in a world free from harm. By joining the movement, you become a voice for the voiceless, a protector of innocence, and a champion for change. Together, we can educate, empower, and take action to safeguard our children—one child, one family, and one community at a time. Stand with us. Speak up. Be the change.
The Guarded Wings Safeguarding Team Training prepares youth-serving organizations such as faith-based organizations, schools, after-school programs, parks and recreation centers, Boys & Girls Clubs, and similar organizations to establish a dedicated team of no less than 3 and no more than 7 trusted individuals responsible for handling reports of suspected child abuse.
This training equips safeguarding team members with the knowledge and skills to:
By designating a trained Safeguarding Team, organizations ensure clear reporting procedures, compliance with state laws, and most importantly, peace of mind for parents, knowing their children are in a safe and protected environment.
